Shopify plugin for WordPress launched

Shopify has released a plugin for WordPress, which enables owners of websites built on this CMS to add a shopping function to their website. The plugin is free to download and adds a “add product” button to the content management system of the popular blogging platform.

Shopify’s product manager Daniel Patricio announced the Shopify Ecommerce Plugin for WordPress on the company’s blog. “If you’ve been waiting for the right time to start selling on WordPress, the wait is over. Now, it’s easier than ever to add ecommerce to your WordPress website, and get all the features and security that comes with Shopify.”

The plugin, which can be downloaded for free, enables website owners to easily add products to any page, post or sidebar without leaving WordPress. “Other WordPress ecommerce plugins want your whole website to be a store, but with the Shopify ecommerce plugin you can seamlessly integrate a WordPress shopping cart for as little as one product. It’s perfect for WordPress site owners looking for a simple way to sell directly to their audience.”
