Zalando partners with Nike

Ecommerce fashion giant Zalando is expanding its partnership with fashion brand Nike. Customers get access to Nike Member exclusive products, as well as more connected inventory and new digital experiences. It is the first time for Nike to partner with European platforms.

German ecommerce fashion giant Zalando has over 49 million customers and is active in 25 markets. Today, it announced that it is expanding its collaboration with Nike. “We look forward to taking our collaboration to the next level by offering out customers exclusive benefits when they shop Nike products on our platform”, said David Schneider, co-CEO at Zalando.

Nike members can connect their account to Zalando to get access to an exclusive selection of products, called Nike Member Exclusive. The partnership also means a large connected inventory for members. According to the fashion brand, customers also get new digital experiences.

‘The partnership will be rolled out in 10 European countries.’

The partnership will be rolled out in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Italy and Poland. Moreover, the connected marketplace will launch first in Austria in October.

High customer expectations

“We know that customer expectations are higher than ever before. Our goal is to connect with them how, when and wherever they want to exercise, shop and be inspired by sports. With partners like Zalando, we can serve them with more speed, ease of use and connection to our brand and sport than ever before”, said Carl Grebert, VP at Nike EMEA.

First European partnerships

A year ago, Nike launched its first connected partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods in North America. It is now launching its first European connected marketplaces, with Zalando as well as UK-based omnichannel retailer JD Sports.
