Amazon launches Haul in the UK

Six months after its debut in the U.S., Amazon Haul has now launched in the United Kingdom. The rollout is in beta, but Amazon has stated that “ultra-low-priced products” will soon be available to all customers in the United Kingdom.

For now, Amazon Haul is only accessible to selected shoppers, who can find it after updating their Amazon Shopping app – via the search bar or the main menu. According to Amazon, the offering includes thousands of products from multiple categories including fashion, home, and lifestyle. Products are priced at 20 pounds or less, with the majority under 10 pounds and some as low as 1 pound.

Answer to Temu

Amazon Haul is seen as the American ecommerce giant’s response to the rise of Temu and other Asian platforms that are gaining market share in Western markets with low-cost products. However, their growth in the U.S. has been temporarily curbed by Trump-era import tariffs.

Amazon emphasizes that product safety is a key aspect of Haul: “All products on Haul go through all relevant Amazon checks so customers can be confident they will receive products that are safe and compliant with all applicable regulations and Amazon policies.”

‘A fun way to shop’

Amazon Haul has its own dedicated shopping experience, with a separate search, basket, and checkout – complemented by familiar Amazon features like star ratings and reviews. It is designed to offer “a fun, engaging way to shop on the app”. Shipping is free for orders over 15 pounds; below that threshold, a standard 2.99 pounds delivery fee applies.

Haul orders will arrive within two weeks or less

Country Manager John Boumphrey highlights how Amazon Haul taps into the current economic climate and cautious consumer sentiment: “Now more than ever we know our customers are looking to save, and we are excited to provide more options through the shopping app they already know and love.”

Amazon in the United Kingdom

Amazon continues to dominate ecommerce in the United Kingdom. Last year, sales grew by 12.7 percent to 36.7 billion euros. Still, competition from players like Temu has intensified, prompting Amazon to bring Haul to the British market now. Expansion into continental Europe is likely to follow.
