EU-funded platform Deliver in Europe officially launched

During the Deliver #2 event last week, the online platform Deliver in Europe has been officially launched. This platform on cross-border parcel delivery services is a new EU-funded initiative that will help small online retailers by informing them about the range of parcel delivery service providers they could use to ship cross border.

The Deliver in Europe platform was actually announced and launched last year, but that was more of a beta version. During Deliver #2, Maros Sefcovic, Vice President of the European Commission, announced the final version of this EU-funded platform.

“We need more of these initiatives, since cross-border ecommerce directly benefits citizens. Once consumers are comfortable ordering their products from anywhere in the EU, they will increase demand, enjoy better prices and services, and generate more business”, he said at the presentation.  “Let’s work together to shape the future of Europe’s transport and logistics industry. I’m sure you can and that you will ‘deliver’.”

Funded by the European Union

Deliver in Europe wants to list all European e-logistics service providers across all domains (parcel delivery, e-fulfilment and e-logistics IT) and then connect them with online retailers. At the launch, already several hundreds of supplier offers were available on the platform.  The website is mostly funded by the European Union in order to provide transparent and independent information to the logistics market. Both service providers and online retailers can use the online platform for free.
