Maisons du Monde launches marketplace in Spain

Recently, French furniture retailer Maisons du Monde expanded on its website with a marketplace. The marketplace launched in France in 2020. Now, it’s rolling out the marketplace in Spain with 150 partner brands.

Maisons du Monde is a French furniture retailer that has brick-and-mortar stores in France, Spain, Italy, Luxemburg, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. According to the company, it currently has over 7.5 million customers in Europe. In 2020, it launched a marketplace in France and now it’s rolling out that service in Spain.

20.000 items

The company has an omnichannel approach, with local presences in Europe and dedicated website. Now, it will accelerate its digital strategy with the launch of its newest marketplace. On the long term, the retailer wants to deploy the marketplace to its Spanish stores. That way, it wants to compete with pure marketplaces.

More than 150 Spanish brands are featured on the marketplace, giving Spanish consumers access to 20.000 items. The marketplace was developed by Mirakl, a marketplace solution provider. The product range on the marketplace includes new categories such as decoration, outdoor furniture and tableware.

Integrated into website

The marketplace is integrated into the retailer’s existing Spanish website. That way, customers will use the same interface and check-out that they are already familiar with when buying a product.
