Last year, online card payments accounted for 43.1 percent of all online payments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A year earlier, that share was still 32.8 percent. This reflects a gradual shift in online shopping habits in the country.

Almost 60 percent of consumers in Bosnia and Herzegovina made between two to five online purchases in the last three months. And 83.4 percent of all online purchases were made via mobile devices. These findings show a consumer confidence in online shopping and clear preference for mobile shopping.

Apotekamo, the online pharmacy from Sweden, has raised 2.5 million euros in funding. The company will use the money for geographical expansion, marketing activities and the platform's logistics solution. The startup wants to become the leading pharmacy in Southeast Europe.

Foodpanda seems to be very hungry! After acquiring businesses in India and Mexico recently, it now takes over three food delivery startups in Central Eastern Europe. The online food ordering marketplace has acquired Donesi.com, Pauza.hr and Netpincer.hr. It's targeting market leadership across Central Eastern Europe.

The ecommerce market of Eastern Europe may be the smallest of the four European regions, it has seen in fact the biggest growth in terms of percentage. Because with an average growth rate of 35.7% over the year 2012, this ecommerce market was the strongest growing region in Europe that year.
