Zalando partners with Vestiaire Collective

Online fashion platform Zalando has partnered with French second-hand platform Vestiaire Collective. The partnership is an effort to accelerate the German platform’s position in the pre-owned market. As a result, the French platform will be able to offer items directly on Zalando.

Well-known online marketplace Zalando has been expanding across Europe. Earlier this year, it expanded its platform into Greece and Portugal. Later this year, a launch in Bulgaria is expected to follow. The platform will then be active in 28 markets.

In March, the German fashion giant also expanded its Pre-Owned category to include children’s fashion. The category is available in 14 European markets: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Sweden.

62% sold within 7 days

Zalando’s second-hand category has shown a high demand. In 2025, an average of 62 percent of items in this category were sold within seven days of being listed. And according to the company, 40 percent of customers who buy second-hand add another item to their order.

50 new brands

Now, it is collaborating with Vestiaire Collective. It specializes in luxury fashion, as it banned fast fashion brands from its platform in 2023. As a result of the collaboration, Zalando customers will get access to around 50 designer brands that were previously unavailable on the platform. Product categories will include clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories. The French pre-owned platform will now be able to offer its items directly in Zalando’s Pre-Owned category, in all markets where it is available.
