H&M is almost more present online than offline

The online branches of H&M Group are slowly surpassing the offline stores when it comes to geographical presence. Four of the total of nine H&M brands are even bigger online than they are in the physical world.

Cheap Monday and Arket are the brands of H&M Group that proportionally have the biggest online presence. Arket for example, has an online store in 18 different countries, but has only a physical store in six markets. And Cheap Monday sells online in 18 different countries as well, but only sells its goods in a physical store in one country.

Digital channel is soon dominant

H&M Group is investing lots of effort and money in launching new labels online, which has led to the situation in which the digital channel is soon dominant to the physical retail sales channel, Dutch blog Emerce writes.

The Swedish retail company hasn’t announced the amount of money they make online, but they did reveal – in its latest quarterly report – that online sales has increased by 32 percent, while total sales grew 9 percent.
