Amazon will open new Spanish headquarters in summer 2017

Amazon has announced it will open a new and bigger Spanish headquarters. This 12,000 square meters building will be located in Madrid’s upcoming business district of Méndez Álvaro. It will host Amazon’s current 400 corporate employees as well as provide capacity for over 1,000 employees.

Plans are to open the new Spanish headquarters in the summer of 2017. The new building should offer the American company more space for employees. “We have already hired hundreds of highly talented people here and we are looking forward to hiring hundreds more”, says François Nuyts, Vice President Amazon Spain & Italy. He sees the new HQ as part of the ongoing investment in Spain. “Ecommerce continues to grow rapidly and more and more Spanish families chose Amazon.es as their preferred shopping site.”

The new headquarters of Amazon in Spain will be easily accessible by public transportation or car. The complex will feature a corporate gym, an outdoor leisure patio, a coffee shop and two restaurants.
