Ecwid partners with popular payment providers in Europe
Ecommerce software solution Ecwid has announced partnerships with popular payments providers in Europe, including Giropay, Sofort, iDeal, SEPA, Klarna, and PayPal Plus. This news follows after an increase in new customers of 143 percent year-on-year and strong transaction volume growth.

Ecwid, which offers ecommerce software as a service, has had a good year. It revealed that new signups across Europe increased by 143 percent in the first half of the year, while regional transaction volume grew 150 percent compared to last year.
Top 3 ecommerce solutions
Data from BuiltWith suggests that Ecwid is among the top 3 ecommerce solutions for a third of Europe, including Germany, Italy, and France. In these markets, Ecwid gained new users by over 200 percent during the first half of this year.
Connected payments providers
In addition to the growth numbers, the Russian company also announced new payment partnerships. In order to better support online merchants in Europe, the company is now partnering with European payment providers, who are available to merchants via Stripe. These companies include:
- Giropay, which accounts for 16 percent of all online transactions in Germany;
- Sofort, which providers services to over 30,000 merchants in the DACH region, Poland, Italy, Spain, and the Benelux;
- iDeal, which is, by far, the most popular payment method in the Netherlands;
- SEPA, which establishes a unified EU system that makes cross-border cashless payments in euros as simple as international payments;
- Klarna, which delivers installment payments and is popular across the EU, Australia, and the US;
- PayPal Plus, which supports merchants in accepting preferred local payment methods directly on their websites, without users having to use a PayPal login.
