Merchantee targets Poland and Germany

Agentic marketplace intelligence company Merchantee has raised 1.8 million euros in a funding round. With the capital injection, it wants to expand into Poland and Germany this year. It also has plans for further expansion in 2027.

Merchantee is a company from Czechia, based in Prague. It has created marketplace intelligence tools, in the form of agentic software. It takes on and automates a lot of daily decisions, like pricing, that sellers usually need to manage manually.

Taking over manual tasks

Earlier research from ChannelEngine has already indicated that online sellers spend around 36 percent of their working week, on average, on manual tasks like updating listings, fixing errors or adjusting pricing. When selling on a marketplace, the biggest challenge for most sellers is staying competitive on pricing and product visibility (for 29 percent of sellers).

Most sellers try to do this on their own, or pay agencies or hire in-house teams to take care of these tasks. According to Merchantee, even these teams can still fall behind. The company also states that other tools often automatically adjust prices, but by following strict rules. This means that the tool cannot react to a competitor’s move or an unexpected shift in demand.

The software reprices every 30 to 60 minutes

Merchantee’s software operates at the SKU level and shows the catalogue, pricing and campaign data in one dashboard. It covers a large part of an online seller’s workflow. It adjusts pricing every 30 to 60 minutes, nominates products for marketplace advertising campaigns and segments catalogues into most popular, products gaining traction and slow-moving products.

‘Scaling means thousands of decisions a day’

“Most sellers are stuck in the same place. Their marketplace channel works at some level, but scaling it means thousands of decisions a day across pricing, campaigns, and promotions that no team can manage manually. Larger companies with more resources win, every time”, says Jakub Vraspír, Founder & CEO of Merchantee.

‘Our agentic intelligence levels the playing field for online sellers on marketplaces’

“Merchantee’s agentic intelligence levels the playing field, working as a marketplace expert across thousands of products at once. Merchantee’s team are the first to build natively for European marketplaces, executing the full loop and giving sellers the kind of opportunity that used to be available only to the largest players.”

Funding and expansion

The company has now raised 1.8 million euros, which will support integrations with more marketplaces. The company also wants to expand into Poland and Germany this year. Next year, it plans to launch in France, the Netherlands and Italy.

There are also planned integrations with eMag, Bol and Cdiscount this year. These will bring the total of supported marketplaces from two to five. The funding will also accelerate development of the company’s technology called Layer 4. This will help the AI agent to automatically decide between strategies like promotions and discounts, or paying for more visibility, based on seller goals across channels.
