Zalando, About You and Yoox Net-A-Porter expand sustainability platform

Fashion giants About You, Yoox Net-A-Porter and Zalando are expanding their ‘Fashion leap for climate’ initiative. The climate learning platform will now be extended to 250 brand partners. Last year, in the platform’s first year, it included 55 brands.

In July last year, the fashion giants announced the launch of its sustainability platform. It would offer a learning program, as well as engagement between brands and sustainability experts. Retailers were able to gain insight into optimizing the platform to maximize progress towards science-aligned climate target setting.

85% increase in understanding SBTs

According to a press release, brand partners that participated last year reported a 85 percent increase in their understanding of science-based targets (SBTs) after completing the learning program. They also reported a boost in confidence.

250 partner brands will be included.

Now, the sustainability platform will be expanded to 250 brands. Zalando, YNAP and About You want to focus on bringing greater value and flexibility to a wider selection of partner brands. Participants can now join a live eight-week course through an engagement track providing support, or entirely self-directed with an on-demand learning function.

‘Collaboration crucial to drive impact’

“At Zalando, we are committed to bringing together different stakeholders in the industry to collectively tackle challenges. We believe this is crucial to drive positive impact across the industry. We are proud to mark our second year of Fashion Leap for Climate in collaboration with About You, Yoox Net-A-Porter and Quantis, one of our key collaborative efforts helping our partners to set their own science-aligned climate targets”, said David Schneider, co-CEO of Zalando.

‘It is encouraging to see how the learning journey has improved confidence in taking climate action.’

“Since launching this initiative last July, it is very encouraging to see that the first of our partner brands have completed the learning journey and how it has improved their confidence in taking steps towards climate action. We strongly believe that such partnerships are the driving force of progress and that only through working together a long-lasting impact is possible.”
