Hatstore is launching a new warehouse

Swedish online seller of caps and hats, Hatstore, is building a new office and warehouse. The new warehouse will be 5,000 square meters in size. The company’s logistics operations will be expanded, with 43 new picking robots, 12 gates and 40,000 boxes.

Hatstore is a Swedish online retailer. It sells headwear, such as caps, hats and beanies. It was founded in 2011. Over the last couple of years, the retailer expanded into 25 new markets. This brings the total amount of active markets to 60. According to the company, its turnover exceeded 28.4 million euros (320 Swedish Kronor) in 2023.

Doubling of warehouse size

The seller has a product range of more than 20,000 products. Its current warehouse premises are getting too small, so the company will be moving its office and warehouse storage to a new place. The complete property will be 11,000 square meters in size. The warehouse will occupy 5,000 square meters of those. This is a doubling of Hatstore’s current warehouse size.

‘We need to be at the forefront of efficiency and automation.’

“Together with staff and partners, we are now building an inspiring venue where everyone can thrive, develop and have fun together. To succeed in this, we also need to be at the forefront of efficiency and automation”, said Niklas Nordheim, CFO and COO at Hatstore.

Expansion of AutoStore

The seller will also expand its logistics solution. It is already using an AutoStore, which will be built up in the new warehouse area. The AutoStore will be installed by Element Logic, with a grid space for 50,000 boxes.

The AutoStore will have grid space for 50,000 boxes.

It will reuse robots, gates and boxes from the previous installation, but also add new ones. At least 43 picking robots, 12 gates and 40,000 boxes will be added. The company expects that it can process around 1,500 order lines per hour. Installation of the AutoStore will start after this summer. The move is planned for January 1st, 2025.
