ShipBob launches in the Netherlands
Global fulfillment platform ShipBob is expanding to the Netherlands with the launch of a fulfillment center. The new fulfillment center is the company’s fifth European location. The company expects to start shipping parcels from the new location in July.
ShipBob is a fulfillment company that was founded in 2014, in Chicago. Since then, the company has raised 330.5 million dollars in funding. It operates globally with a logistics network of more than 45 fulfillment centers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia.
Increased demand in Europe
Now, the company is opening its fifth location in Europe. The launch is a result of increased demand in the region. “As we have grown our United Kingdom and European business over the last 12 months, the next logical step was a Netherlands-based fulfillment location”, said Enda Breslin, GM Europe at ShipBob.
‘The Netherlands is a great location for brands looking to grow their European business.’
“For brands looking to grow their European business, the Netherlands is a great location. Europe’s busiest seaport of Rotterdam is located there, making getting your goods from manufacturers easy. On the doorstep of mainland Europe’s first and second biggest ecommerce markets of Germany and France, our customers can easily get their orders to those shoppers in two days or less.”
Operating in July
The new fulfillment center is expected to be operating in July. In ShipBob’s platform, customers can view real-time inventory levels in fulfillment centers. Additionally, the platform gives them order information and shipping details across locations and sales channels.
