SwipBox and Cargus join forces

SwipBox is partnering with Cargus, a well-known courier in Romania. Three hundred parcel lockers will be installed this month. The pilot will take place in Bucharest, which entails another international expansion for SwipBox.

Network of 300 lockers

Danish parcel locker company SwipBox is known for its smart parcel locker network. It is now rolling out a network of 300 lockers in Bucharest with Cargus. The pilot will use SwipBox’s Inifinity lockers, which are battery driven and Bluetooth enabled.

Cargus is a popular Romanian courier which has recently installed several pick up, drop off points. In a response to consumer demand, it also wants to introduce parcel lockers. The network will be placed in convenient places for consumers, making it possible to pick up parcels by foot or by bike.

‘Important milestone in development strategy’

“In these fast-paced times we need to take a step forward and adapt to the market’s new reality and demand. The new Cargus lockers represent an important milestone in our development strategy”, says Olivier van Houtte, CEO Cargus.

‘The lockers complete our national network.’

“The lockers complete our national out of home network and offer an innovative solution to ecommerce businesses, local and international, and their customers. We are glad that we found a partner like SwipBox that can help us develop an easy, convenient, cost-efficient, contactless and sustainable delivery option.”

Partnerships SwipBox

It is not the first time that SwipBox joins forces with another company. A month ago, it installed outdoor parcel lockers with PostNord Finland. It has previously also worked together with Belgian logistics provider Bpost.

‘Cargus is focused on optimizing the user experience.’

This new partnership means another international expansion for SwipBox. “Cargus is in many ways an ideal partner for us. They are totally focused on optimizing the user experience. We are looking forward to developing tomorrow’s solutions for the Romanian market in partnership with Cargus”, says SwipBox CEO Jens Rom.
