Jingle, a startup from Vienna, wants to be a local alternative to major online retailers. With its marketplace app, consumers can easily browse and find products from local retailers. This month, Jingle has received a six-digit investment from Umdasch, an Austrian company that realizes stores for retail companies.

Zalando, the personal styling service of Zalando, has expanded to Sweden. The company has also made a French version of its service available to its customers in Belgium and Switzerland. Zalon by Zalando is now available in six markets across Europe.

Galaxus, a major online department store form Switzerland, has launched in Germany. Galaxus Deutschland will start as an electronics retailer, but in the next few months, it will become a wide-range online store. In the medium term, Galaxus even wants to be one of the top 5 ecommerce players in Germany.

Superwinkel.nl, an online department store from the Netherlands, has expanded to Germany. Last month, the ecommerce company opened the digital doors of Supershop.de. This is not the first time the retailer sells in Germany, as it has been selling products through Amazon Germany since October 2017.

Bol.com, the biggest online retailer in the Netherlands, has finally entered the food and drink industry. The ecommerce giant now sells wine, craft beer, champagne, whisk(e)y and other liquors through its website.

Ecommerce platform provider xSellco has launched eDesk, a helpdesk that integrates with several ecommerce marketplaces, shopping carts and social channels, and should help online retailers to scale their customer support strategy.

Amazon has launched Amazon Turkey today. The dedicated local marketplace offers products from 15 different categories to Turkish customers. Consumers in Turkey could already order at Amazon, but that happened via a translated version of the German Amazon. Now, they have their own dedicated Amazon website with Amazon Turkey.

Zooplus, a major online retailer of pet supplies, has entered a new market. The German company launched Zoobee, an online supermarket that sells all kinds of foods and drinks for human beings. As it's still a Zooplus brand, the online supermarket also sells pet supplies.

German fashion retailer Edited keeps on expanding. The retail company has opened its latest online store in Belgium. The launch follows just one month after the German company opened its digital doors in the Netherlands.

The European Retail Alliance has officially launched, three months after it was announced that European ecommerce companies MediaMarktSaturn and Fnac Darty wanted to form an alliance. European Retail Alliance is said to be Europe's answer to ecommerce giants such as Amazon and Alibaba.

Cross-Border Commerce Europe is a new initiative from Carine Moitier, who co-founded Belgian ecommerce association BeCommerce in 2005. With this online platform, she wants to help international retailers to perform better on the European ecommerce market.

Amazon has launched its online print on demand platform Merch by Amazon in Europe. The service is now available in Germany and the United Kingdom. The launch in Europe follows three years after Amazon introduced the platform in the US.

Fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg is further expanding its omnichannel strategy in Eastern Europe. The retailer launched an online store in Poland, where it already has eleven stationary stores. In the online Peek & Cloppenburg store, customers can order 20,000 products from 300 different brands.

Amazon has expanded its Amazon Business presence in Europe, by launching the B2B ecommerce website in Italy and Spain. The existence of the online platform in these two markets means that Amazon Business is now available in five European countries.

Afound, H&M's newest retail brand, has announced that it will open its online store on 14 June. On that day, the outlet brand will also open the doors of its physical store in Stockholm. Two days later, the Malmö store will open.
