Dutch logistics company PostNL is opening up its network of parcel lockers to other carriers in 2023. Additionally, the company will expand its network of 400 parcel lockers to 1,500 lockers by 2024 across the country. The move will make it easier for consumers to receive and send parcels.

Amazon has filed lawsuits in Italy and Spain in order to stop fake reviews on its platform. It marks the first criminal complaint of the ecommerce giant in Europe. Amazon also sent warnings to five websites in Germany concerning the issue.

Spanish online beauty product store Perfume’s Club is turning its platform into a marketplace. By the end of this year, it wants to incorporate 200,000 products from suppliers and brands. The marketplace is only available in Spain, but will be expanded to other markets.

When making a purchase decision, at least 55 percent of Germans find reviews of a shop or product important. However, fake reviews are a common problem in ecommerce. As a result, 74 percent of Germans want reviews to have a label of authenticity.

In the seventeenth edition of the BeCommerce Awards, Bijenkorf.be was awarded with The Becommerce Award. It can now call itself the best Belgian online store for a year. It competed with four other nominees for this title.

During the first quarter of this year, 74 percent of Dutch consumers bought services or goods online. This is a decrease of 3 percent when compared to the same period a year earlier. Consumers also bought less physical than digital products online.

Shopify is expanding its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program to Europe. The program, which offers Shopify integrations for merchants, first launched last year. The company is working with local ERP software companies from the Netherlands, Germany and Spain for the European launch.

For the first time in years, electronics store Coolblue is not the second largest online seller in the Netherlands. Albert Heijn passes the store by just 30 million euros.

Last year, Belgian trade association BeCommerce launched a project called Ezyshop. At least 2,140 companies signed up to receive individual coaching sessions. According to the organization, Belgian retailers need extra support and the government should help.

European ecommerce fulfillment company Huboo has announced a partnership with Mirakl, a marketplace solution provider. Huboo’s customers can now connect to marketplaces powered by Mirakl. At the same time, sellers on Mirakl Connect can now access Huboo’s fulfillment network.

Ecommerce giant Amazon has announced that it will invest more than 1 billion euros up until 2027 to decarbonize its transportation network in Europe. The company will add electric delivery vans and electric heavy goods vehicles to its network. It wants to become net-zero carbon by 2040.

Carrefour’s online shop in Belgium is getting a software system redesign. As a result, the product offer has been reduced. This can last until the beginning of next year, the company says.

Fashion retailer H&M is considering payment for online returns. Return fees could help cut increasing company costs. H&M is testing the change in return policy in Norway and the United Kingdom.

Website design software Wordpress is considering offering core features as plugins instead. With a plugin-first approach, the software could be updated regularly. The consideration comes right before the launch of the newest version of Wordpress in November.
