Croatian price comparison platform Jeftinije.hr has launched a new service: Jeftinije Marketplace. In addition to comparing prices from different sellers, the marketplace allows consumers to buy these products directly from the platform.

As of today, Dutch shipping software provider Sendcloud integrates with Mirakl Connect. The integration allows for easier selling on platforms and fast, flexible delivery. Marketplace sellers can now manage all their shipments in one place.

With ecommerce growing strongly, the market is becoming more and more competitive. Many consumers start their online search on marketplaces, meaning that online sellers need to make sure their products are easy to find, but approximately 30 percent of products online have findability issues. This can lead to revenue loss.

Ecommerce fashion giant Zalando has surpassed the 10 billion euro revenue mark. It reports a total revenue of 10.4 billion euros in 2021. This was a 29.7 percent growth when compared to the year before. The company wants to reach more than 30 billion euros in GMV by 2025.

Online furniture and home goods retailer Wayfair has reported a net revenue of 12.2 billion euros in 2021. In 2020, the platform made a revenue of 12.6 billion euros, illustrating that sales have decreased slightly. However, it expects to grow strongly in the coming years. It wants to surpass the 100 billion euro revenue mark by 2030.

Major Polish ecommerce marketplace Allegro has announced that its revenue reached 1.14 billion euros in 2021. This is a 33.9 percent growth when compared to the year before. The company expects that it will keep up the same growth rate in 2022.

Ecommerce giant Amazon has reached a sales worth of 31.6 billion euros in Germany during the past year. This is a growth of almost 6 billion euros when compared to the year before. The company grew in its other markets as well, but not as strong as in Germany.

Of all sellers on the Dutch version of Amazon, only 2 percent is from the Netherlands. Most of these sellers handle their own logistics. Most Dutch sellers offer home items and clothing, which are the most popular products among Dutch online shoppers.

Online high-end fashion retailer Yoox has announced the launch of its first marketplace. The marketplace will intregrate small businesses and brands, which will also enhance Yoox's assortment. The marketplace is launched in Europe and will expand across the US, North Africa, Japan and the Middle East next year.

B2B-marketplace Ankorstore has secured 250 million euros. After only two years of operations, the French company is Europe’s latest unicorn with a value over 1,75 billion euros. The platform wants to use the money to develop their existing services and open new offices in Italy and Spain.

Amazon customers from the United Kingdom can now pay later for their orders through a partnership with Barclays, the British bank. The new payment service called ‘Instalments’ was already introduced in Germany last year. ‘Buy now, pay later’ is becoming increasingly popular in Europe.

Online marketplace Joom has partnered with Worldline by implementing its Russian Payments Solution. Retailers and customers in Russia will now have more payment options. In doing so, Joom wants to solidify its position in the Russian market.

Major marketplace from the United Kingdom, OnBuy, announced that it will reward its entire workforce with over 1 million euros in share options this month. The news follows the announcement of an anticipated IPO and international expansion.

With the strong growth in ecommerce across Europe, also comes a strong growth in marketplaces. European online marketplaces are estimated to value around 120 to 150 billion euros. But the markets for online marketplaces differ per country.

eBay has signed a partnership agreement with InPost, the Polish ecommerce delivery company. Sellers on eBay now get access to InPost's parcel lockers throughout the UK. The move will provide sellers with more flexible postal solutions.
