Households in the United Kingdom are increasingly using subscription boxes. In 2020, 65 percent received these parcels, while last year this number rose up to 81 percent. The strong growth means that the subscription box market was worth 473.1 million euros in 2021.

Coolblue, the Dutch electronics retailer, made a revenue of 2,3 billion euros in 2021. That is 18 percent more than the year before. The profits turned out lower in the past year. This is due to investments, according to Coolblue.

Bol.com made 5,5 billion euros in online sales last year. That is 27 percent more than the year before. The platform now has 49 thousand third party retailers. Together they generate more than half of the revenue.

In order to meet expectations of customers, B2B manufacturers are planning to accelerate their digital transformation this year. At least 83 percent of them will increase their budget for investments into digital business strategies. In doing so, they hope to tap into new revenue streams.

German ecommerce has gone through a strong growth in 2021. Gross sales of ecommerce products amounted to 99.1 billion euros, which is a growth of 19 percent compared to 2020. Almost every seventh euro available to German consumers for household expenses was spent on products online.

Of all sellers on the Dutch version of Amazon, only 2 percent is from the Netherlands. Most of these sellers handle their own logistics. Most Dutch sellers offer home items and clothing, which are the most popular products among Dutch online shoppers.

Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn has grown its market share to 35.9 percent in 2021. Its online channel, where customers order groceries, has helped achieve this growth. Up to 10 percent of the company's revenue come from this channel.

Ever since the outbreak of the coronavirus, ecommerce has grown significantly. An indicator of that growth is the number of online stores on platforms like Shopify. Between March 2020 and January 2022, the number of stores on Shopify grew with 201.53 percent.

Flash delivery startups have seen their turnover grow in the Netherlands. Research estimates that by the end of 2021, Dutch consumers were spending around 40 million euros per month on flash deliveries. This growth is expected to continue throughout this year, meaning that a total turnover of 1 billion euros can be achieved in 2022.

Online payment method PayPal is well-known within Europe, but the usage of PayPal in online stores varies between countries. In Italy, 93 percent of online stores offer PayPal as a payment method. On the other end of the spectrum, PayPal is only offered in 1 percent of Serbian online stores.

The top 10 of Austria's 250 biggest online stores had a successful year in 2020. Together, the top 10 made up almost half of the top 250's total online sales. Though there are new online retailers in the top 10, Amazon.de remains undefeated.
