Klarna has launched its own financing program for SME retailers in Europe. The new initiative is called Boost and is aimed to further support retailers in accelerating their growth. The company promises the application process will be simple and straightforward.

Ecommerce in the Nordic region has increased by 11 percent during the first six months of 2018, compared with the same period last year. Nordic consumers made online purchases worth 10 billion euros. The largest ecommerce country in the region is Sweden, with 4.12 billion euros.

PostNord and Zalando have signed a three year logistics contract, thereby extending the partnership that started when Zalando entered the Nordic market eight years ago. Until mid-2021, PostNord will be the sole supplier of logistics solutions to Zalando in all of PostNord's four markets in the Nordic region.

Amazon is seen as a threat by almost half of Nordic online retailers. On the other hand, over a quarter of ecommerce players see Amazon entering the Nordic market as an opportunity. With Amazon's arrival, local retailers can use the established marketplace to sell their products to more consumers.

The winners of the FDIH E-handelsprisen 2018 were revealed and online supermarket Nemlig.com won the main award. At the same event, Too Good To Go was rewarded with the title of best newcomer, while the 19-year old Daniel Johannesen was named the best ecommerce entrepreneur.

Danish Consumer Council THINK Chemicals says shopping cosmetic products in the online shop Wish.com is problematic. The main problem is that customers often don't know what's in the products they buy through this popular online store.

International IT services company Columbus has launched Columbus eCommerce, a SaaS ecommerce solution for B2B and B2C organizations. Using prebuilt templates, companies can make a new ecommerce website using Columbus' solution, which integrates with Microsoft Dynamics 365. The software is focused on B2B retailers, but also offers built-in B2C functionality.

The ecommerce industry in the Nordics (Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland) was worth 209,6 billion Swedish kronor, which corresponds to over 20.6 billion euros, last year. Almost forty percent of the total Nordic ecommerce revenue was generated in Sweden.

Toy retailers are in a difficult spot. Online shopping keeps growing and offline retailers are suffering because of this. That's why in Denmark, online toy retailer Coolshop joined forces with nine physical toy stores. And now they are all doing well.

Ecommerce in Denmark is estimated to be worth 15.5 billion euros in 2017. If this prediction comes true, it would mean the B2C ecommerce turnover in this Northern European country increases by 15 percent compared to last year.

80 percent of leading retailers in the Nordics have an ecommerce app and a mobile-optimized ecommerce website. Almost one in five retailers have focused on optimizing their website for mobile visitors, rather than focusing on an app. Only 1 percent has neither.

The Danish company Traede, which offers a B2B sales system for brands, has received 3.5 million Danish kroner (about 470,000 euros) in funding from SEED Capital, the country's largest early stage venture fund. Previously it received about 400,000 euros from Markedsmodningsfonden.

The ecommerce industry in the Nordic region was worth 21.9 billion euros in 2016. The biggest share of online retail revenue in this region comes from Sweden, which generated 8.5 billion euros last year. But Norwegians scored the highest monthly amount spent per person.

Event organizer Shoptalk announced it secured 2 million dollars (€1.86 million) in venture capital funding to support the launch of its first European ecommerce event, Shoptalk Europe. The company also announced the first group of speakers for the event that takes place in Copenhagen from October 9 until October 11.

Komplett.no, the biggest online retailer in Norway, will launch its own marketplace where other retailers can sell their products. The company is slowly transforming from being an online shop to an ecommerce marketplace and is aiming to become the Amazon of the Nordics.
