Ecommerce in the UK is set to reach 81 billion euros in 2016, partly due to an impressive growth in smartphone-based buying. Mobile ecommerce is expected to be worth 30 billion euros this year, which is an increase of more than 25 percent compared to last year.

Online supermarket Ocado has revealed more than half of its orders, 55 percent to be precise, were checked out on a mobile device. The online grocer also saw it profit rise and is currently talking with potential international retailers to secure a long awaited overseas deal.

Dutch shoe manufacturer Floris van Bommel was already active in Germany for several years now, but since last February it also has an online store in Germany. To grow further in the German ecommerce market, Floris van Bommel has now partnered with online marketing company Fingerspitzengefühl.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dortmund has started a training for ecommerce managers. It's one of the first in Germany to offer such a course. IHK Dortmund offers the training together with education provider Business Academy Ruhr.

One in three online shoppers in Sweden also shop at foreign stores. But which international ecommerce websites are the most popular among Swedish consumers? Global couponing platform CupoNation analyzed the data for six months and shares the most visited online stores, both local and foreign, in Sweden.

Magento is the fastest growing and most widely used ecommerce platform in Europe. At least, that's what Magento Commerce announced. The ecommerce solution currently has 53 clients on Internet Retailer's list of Europe's 500 biggest ecommerce companies, which is more than any other provider.

Ecommerce in Hungary has continued to grow in 2015. It surpassed the milestone of 300 billion Hungarian forints (about €963 million) for the first time, ultimately reaching 319 billion Hungarian forints, or 1.02 billion euros, at the end of last year. Ecommerce now accounts for 4.1 percent of the overall retail trade.

Amazon was voted as the best online retailer in Germany. Perfumery Douglas and shoe retailer Deichmann ranked second and third respectively. There are no pure online retailers to be found in the top ten, which is filled with the online stores of large retail chains.

Lidl has opened an online store in the Netherlands. Dutch consumers are now able to order all kinds of non-food products, such as fashion, tools, home accessories and  kitchen tools & gadgets via Lidl-shop.nl.  The German discount supermarket wants to expand its online assortment in stages.

Soon, consumers in Stockholm will be able to pick up their parcels at the subway, when Nordic logistics company Bring expands the number of automated parcel lockers in the Swedish capital. For this operation, Bring has partnered with Stockholm public transport company SL.

Dutch omnichannel retailer Coolblue is almost ready to enter more European markets. The company is already active in Belgium, where it will open more physical stores, but is working on expanding to other countries. "The last hurdle is multilingualism."

Hypermarket chain Kaufland, is readying an online grocery shopping operation in Berlin that will also include fresh food. It's not clear when the ecommerce service of Kauflan will officialy launch, but rumors say they will begin early next year with the online grocery shopping service.

In many countries, Amazon is the first stop for online shopping. In Switzerland, there is still no corresponding counterpart. A recent survey shows that three quarters of retailers think that a strong Swiss B2C online marketplace would be good for the country, so Amazon can't gain more market share.

Ecommerce software provider ePages launched Pay with Amazon for its UK and German based online shop owners. This integration allows the merchants' customers to check out with payment and shipping information stored in their Amazon account, while remaining within an ePages-powered shop throughout the checkout process.
