Wrangler opens online stores in Europe

Wrangler has some big plans for this fall: it will launch an online store in ten European countries as well as launch a campaign with Finnish racing driver Kimi Raikkönen to boost sales. At the end of this year, Wrangler's online has to available in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Ireland. France and Belgium will follow later.

PrestaShop and eBay have agreed to expand their partnership and business development activities in Europe. After already establishing a partnership in France, Italy, Spain and the UK, the two companies now will partner up in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Merchants using PrestaShop's ecommerce software now can rapidly integrate their online store with the eBay marketplace.

Mcommerce is booming in Austria

Distance sellers in Austria have together sold products and services worth almost seven billion euros in the period May 2013 to April 2014. This corresponds to a growth rate of 8 percent compared to the same period last year. A new study shows 'dynamic development' and 'changes consumer behavior' in the Austrian distance trade during the period 2013/2014. Partly thanks to a booming mobile commerce industry.

Central European ecommerce to grow to €93.3bn

With an average growth rate of 19% in 2012 the ecommerce industry in Central Europe was growing almost as hard as the European average, which is 19.9%. The region's ecommerce market was worth 75.9 billion euros in 2012, but it's expected to have grown to 93.3 billion euros last year, which comes down to an increase of 23% in 2013.

Rakuten opens another e-marketplace in Europe

The Japanese ecommerce company Rakuten Inc. opened in Austria its fifth European e-marketplace. After the British Play.com, the French PriceMinister.com, the Spanish PriceMinister.es and the German Rakuten.de, Rakuten.at is now their most recent launch in Europe. Rakuten offers local merchants the opportunity to sell their products via one of Rakutens e-marketplaces.
