Wehkamp.nl wants to reduce the amount of returns of fashion items, its top-selling category. The biggest online clothing store of the Netherlands has to deal with return rates around fifty percent. It now wants to reduce this by measuring all their clothes, so customers will return less ill-fitting articles.

Dixons is to sell its French ecommerce business Pixmania, while also getting freed of its loss-making Turkish company ElectroWorld. Four months ago Dixons said it would like to sell Pixmana and if that proved impossible closure of the operation was an option. By selling Pixmania and Electroworld Dixons can now focus on markets where they have leading positions.

British offline retailers are now even more concerned about the ever increasing competition from online retailers than a year ago. More than half of the British shop owners would like to see that online retailers start paying taxes to level the playing field.

Home24 celebrated its 500,000th customer this week. The online shop for all things furniture is only one and a half years active, but it’s getting bigger and bigger every month. Nowadays they sell more than 40,000 products ranging from furniture to cupboards en fireplaces.

American fans of Swedish retail-clothing company H&M will finally be able to shop online for their favorite dresses, shirts, jeans, accessories and more. H&M, which is known for their reasonably stylish clothing at low prices, revealed yesterday on Twitter that U.S. customers are able to buy their products online next month.

A new ecommerce platform called To The Tops has launched in the United Kingdom, France and Scandinavia. Its goal is to get as successful as other celebrity curated ecommerce platforms like BeachMint. Retired soccer player Patrick Vieira and singer Kimberly Wyatt are some of the names lending their support.

Media Markt will open its online store in Belgium next week. The electronics product chain will also open ten more brick-and-mortar stores in the European country, while many existing stores will get an upgrade. In total, Media Markt expects to invest some 30 million euro on this operation.

Hunkemöller, the largest high-street lingerie brand in the Benelux, is expanding its webshop for European customers. It already has local webshops in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, but now there is an international site for customers abroad. Site visitors can select five different languages and orders can be shipped to a total of 17 countries.

Zalando is trying to gain some more ground in Italy. The German e-retailer is trying to do so by opening several pop-up stores, which should attract high street customers to the online shop. Recently they opened a pop-up store in Milan and now this initiative will be repeated in Rome.
