According to data conducted by Statista, the Czech ecommerce industry was worth about 2.5 billion euros in 2019. It predicts that it will reach a revenue of 6.5 billion euros by 2026. This website also forecasts that online revenue in Czechia will show an annual growth rate of 2.57 percent until 2025. According to Ecommerce Europe, the B2C ecommerce turnover was worth 6.09 billion euros in 2019.

The Association for Electronic Commerce (APEK) however, says ecommerce was worth 155 billion Czech korun in 2019, this corresponds to 5.93 billion euros. Czech ecommerce accounts for 13 percent of the country’s retail sales.

Big online stores in the Czech Republic

Czechia has some major online retailers. Among them is Alza.cz, which sells all kinds of consumer electronics online. In 2022, it generated 1.2 billion euros in turnover. Another major ecommerce company is online department store Mall.cz, which generated 264.2 million euros in 2022. Supermarket Rohlik.cz also has a very strong presence online, it generated 317.3 million euros in 2022. Together, these three stores accounted for 35.4 percent of the country’s top 100 online stores’ revenue in that year.
