Viniexport, an online marketplace from Italy that enables companies to buy and sell wine worldwide, has secured a 2 million euros funding round. With the money, the marketplace wants to pursue its European expansion.

Spanish fashion giant Inditex says online sales now account for 10 percent of its global total. In 47 markets around the world, Inditex has one or several ecommerce platforms available and these online sales increased by 41 percent compared to last year.

21Buttons, a social-commerce fashion app from Spain, has raised almost 15 million euros in a Series B round led by Idinvest Partners. With the fresh capital, 21Buttons wants to invent in talent traction for tech and product profiles, and user acquisition.

The Spanish startup HomyHub has, together with national postal service Correos, developed a service, called Safe Delivery, which allows consumers to receive their packages in the garage, without having to be at home. By using an app, consumers can control, monitor and manage access to their garage.

Amazon has expanded its Amazon Business presence in Europe, by launching the B2B ecommerce website in Italy and Spain. The existence of the online platform in these two markets means that Amazon Business is now available in five European countries.

Carrefour Spain has plans to launch an online marketplace. The idea is that this marketplace will be connected to the company's hypermarkets throughout the country, so customers can pick between over 2 million products instead of 100,000.

ManoMano, a European online marketplace specialized in DIY & gardening, closed last year with a global turnover of 250 million euros, which is an increase of 180 percent compared to 2016, when the French company generated a turnover of 90 million euros. Its UK turnover doubled year-over-year.

Packhelp, a Polish startup that manufactures custom packaging, has launched localized versions of its ecommerce website in France, Italy, Spain and Czech Republic. The company already sells to thirty countries across Europe, but is planning to launch more localized versions for these markets.

So far this year, 363.439 new sellers joined Amazon marketplaces in Europe. Among new sellers on all marketplaces that Amazon has worldwide, 36.3 percent registered on Amazon in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France or Spain.

German electronics retail group MediaMarkt-Saturn will welcome other retailers on its online platform in Spain next year. For now, Spain is the only market where Media-Markt-Saturn will launch an online marketplace. In Germany, the company is discussion various options.

Photoslurp, a Spanish visual commerce platform, just received an investment of 750,000 euros. The funding round was led by Spanish VC firm Inveready Technology Investment Group and joined by Bankinter VC, Caixa Capital Risc and ICF. Photoslurp wants to use this money to further expand in Europe.

Black Friday continues to be one of the most important sales periods for Spanish small and medium-sized enterprises, especially online. This year's edition of Black Friday takes place on 24 November and it's expected that almost half of online stores in Spain will participate.

Ecommerce in Spain increased by 24.8 percent year-on-year during the first quarter of 2017. During these three months, 6.8 billion euros was spent online, while the number of transactions increased by 31 percent to 115 million.

The ecommerce turnover in Spain was worth 23.91 billion euros in 2016, an increase of over 15 percent compared to the year before. This year, it's expected ecommerce in Spain will grow 17 percent to reach almost 28 billion euros at the end of 2017.

When an online basket was filled with 39 popular summer products in six countries across Europe, the ecommerce industry in France happened to have the highest prices. This 'summer basket' however is most expensive for consumers in Spain, as they have the lowest gross domestic product per capita among these countries.
