Parcel and express transport provider GLS Spain has integrated a large number of Pudo, Hapiick and PDN360 terminals into its network. Now, the number of automated lockers than can be used by GLS in Spain amounts to over 200.

Glami, a search engine for fashion, has expanded its presence abroad. The Czech ecommerce company is now also offering its services in Spain. In this Southern European country, Glami partners with local fashion companies, such as Desigual, Merkal and Vero Moda.

Alibaba will boost its partnership with Europe's biggest department store group El Corte Inglés, by offering click & collect for AliExpress customers. In early 2020, they will be able to pick up their orders at El Corte Inglés stores.

AliExpress is going offline. The popular Chinese shopping platform has opened a physical store in Madrid, the first of its kind in Europe. The store actually operates more like a showroom, because products still need to be ordered online.

Online pharmacy Newpharma wants to expand further across Europe and is thinking about launching its online shop in both Italy and Spain. Currently, the Belgian ecommerce company is active in six European countries.

Amazon has extended its anti-counterfeiting program Project Zero to Europe. With this initiative, which launches in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, the ecommerce giant wants to drive the number of counterfeits on its platform to zero.

Carrefour will offer its customers a 30-minute delivery service. In France, Spain, Italy and Argentina consumers will get their groceries a lot faster than before. The service is the result of a partnership between Carrefour and Spanish startup Glovo.

Worten, a popular electronics retailer from Portugal, has completely renewed its ecommerce website in Spain. Worten.es now includes an online marketplace which allows customers to access over 700,000 new products in over 30 categories.

Tendam, the Spanish fashion retail group that was formerly known as the Cortefiel Group, saw its online sales grow by 29.4 percent last year. Online sales now account for almost 8 percent of the company's total sales in Spain.

Consumers in Europe think security is more important than convenience when it comes to paying online. But in the UK, the difference is quite small. Over half of Brits chose security, while 43 percent selected convenience.

Mercadona, a Spanish supermarket chain from Valencia, has expanded its new online shopping service to customers in Barcelona. The launch of the online store follows after opening a new distribution center in the Catalan city.

Ecommerce in Spain was worth 27.96 billion euros in 2018. That's an increase of 17 percent compared to the previous year. For this year, a growth of about 20 percent is expected, which would mean ecommerce in Spain will be worth 33.56 billion euros at the end of 2019.

Lidl is selling its groceries online in Spain. The delivery of fresh foods though is only available in Madrid for now. To get the products to customers' homes, Lidl is working together with online food platform Lola Market.

AliExpress has opened its marketplace to welcome non-Chinese sellers. The Alibaba-owned business-to-consumer marketplace has changed its business model to better compete with Amazon. Online retailers from Spain, Italy, Turkey and Russia now have access to the Chinese platform.
