Charlie Temple, an optical online retailer from the Netherlands, has expanded to Belgium and Austria. For the fast-growing ecommerce scale-up in prescription glasses these are the second and third new market, after it also expanded to Germany last year.

Fashion brand Chiquelle is moving its warehouse operations. Currently these are located in Arlandastad, outside Stockholm, but after the Christmas holidays, the Swedish company will move its warehouse to the Netherlands.

Gadero, an online shop for wood and wooden furniture, has expanded its ecommerce activities to the French-speaking market in Western Europe. The Dutch retailer will now deliver wood to Wallonia, Luxembourg and some northern parts of France.

Zalando has launched Zalando Lounge in the Czech Republic. The online shopping club for fashion and lifestyle products has arrived just in time for the holidays, starting with Black Friday this week. The Czech Republic is the 14^th market in Europe where Zalando Lounge is active.

Glami, a search engine for fashion, has expanded its presence abroad. The Czech ecommerce company is now also offering its services in Spain. In this Southern European country, Glami partners with local fashion companies, such as Desigual, Merkal and Vero Moda.

Omoda, a Dutch omnichannel shoe retailer, is expanding in Europe. After it opened online stores in countries nearby, the company is now ready to expand to Scandinavia. This year, an online store in Denmark will open and next year, Sweden, Norway and Finland are next.

UK online electricals retailer AO announced today that it will close its Netherlands operation. The exit from the Netherlands enables the retailer to focus more on its German business, soon the only operation outside of the United Kingdom.

Dustin, a Swedish reseller of IT products and services, has launched its online store in the Netherlands. The company was already active in the Nordics, but after acquiring Dutch Vince Groep last year, the IT company is now also active in the Netherlands.

Gerry Weber has expanded its online presence in Europe. The new online shops are part of a financial restructuring the company implemented after it made a restart.

Wildberries, the biggest online retailer in Russia, comes to Europe. The ecommerce company is building a new logistics center in Slovakia that could take about 1.5 years, but already this year, Wildberries wants to begin online sales in Europe.

Danish ecommerce company Goodiebox is expanding in Europe. The beauty tech startup launched in Austria last week and just went live with pre-launch websites in Finland and Switzerland. Goodiebox will go live in these countries approximately a month from now, while the German website will be launched later this year.

Interiors online retailer Amara will launch its online store in Belgium. This would be the tenth country where Amara runs a localized website. The announced launch in Belgium follows after a period of strong European growth.

De Bijenkorf has launched its online shop in Germany. The Dutch omnichannel retailer offers products from around 1,000 well-known and upcoming brands. In the Netherlands, the department store has one of the country's biggest online stores.

HelloFresh has set foot in Scandinavia. The German meal kit delivery service has launched in Sweden. "We are sure Swedish customers will love our product, and we can't wait for them to try it", co-founder Thomas Griesel commented.

The total cross-border market of European-owned marketplaces represents a turnover of 9 billion euros. This corresponds to a fifth of what's generated by all cross-border marketplaces in Europe, with Amazon generating 28 billion euros. Here's the top 20.
